Six Nations of the Grand River, Ontario
Objective: to investigate the impact of food and water insecurity, including food sovereignty, on the prevalence and management of type 2 diabetes for Six Nations community members and to promote consumption of traditional foods.
Building upon a previous community health survey Six Nations of the Grand River will investigate the impact of water insecurity, anxiety and stress on the prevalence and management of T2DM among community members. They will engage community members to understand their perceptions of water and food insecurity, including food sovereignty, and how this impacts nutrition management of T2DM for Six Nations community members.
